Kathy Belyeu leads the Specialty Research team. In this role, Kathy oversees the development and implementation of a suite of thematic policy options catering to institutional investors with a range of views and specialized requirements for proxy voting. Kathy also serves on the ISS Global Policy Board, which advises the policy development process, and contributes to the ISS Governance global environmental and social research team.

Based in Washington, DC, Kathy has worked with ISS since 2016, starting in the Specialty Research team and moving to the ISS U.S. Benchmark Research team, where she has specialized in environmental and social topics in voting. Prior to ISS, Kathy worked in strategic communications and research for the American Wind Energy Association, as a research analyst for the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and as an analyst with a number of other energy-related organizations. Kathy has a Masters in Applied Economics from the University of Maryland, an M.B.A. from Georgetown University, and a BA from Pomona College.
