John Vizikas is the Head of Canadian Research at ISS. John is responsible for managing policy development and benchmark Proxy Advisory Service research for approximately 2400 annual and special shareholder meetings at Canadian publicly listed companies.

Since joining ISS, John has represented the Canadian Research team at various industry events as a speaker and headed ISS’ Canadian M&A team, specializing in contested M&A situations and proxy contests.

Prior to joining ISS in 2014, John spent eight years as a senior research analyst at GMI Ratings, a corporate governance and ESG ratings and research provider, where he led a group of international research analysts, and worked on special projects such as the CFA Institute’s “Shareowner Rights across the Markets” investors’ manual.

John holds a BA in economics from Hunter College, MBA in financial management, and MS in investment management, both from Pace University.
