LONDON, U.K. (28 June 2018)  – Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. (ISS), a leading provider of governance and responsible investment solutions to the global financial community, today announced two key leadership appointments in the ISS Research organization in London.   These follow the departure of Nathan Leclercq, ISS’ current Head of U.K. Research, who will be rejoining Aviva Investors where he had previously worked since 2002.

Jonathan Haymon is appointed as ISS Head of U.K. Research. Mr. Haymon, who has an MBA from Cass Business School, is currently Vice-President and manager in the U.K. Research team, as well as Head of South African Research, and has ten years of U.K. governance experience. “Jonathan has deep governance expertise and research skills, has been a key contributor to our highest profile U.K. research, and has had a leading role in the development of ISS’ voting guidelines in the U.K. and South African markets, ensuring that ISS policies reflect current and relevant market standards and evolving investor needs” said Georgina Marshall, ISS’ Global Head of Research. “Jonathan’s appointment as Head of U.K. Research and his depth of expertise will allow him to continue to add great value to the high-quality U.K. research and informed voting recommendations that our clients expect.” Mr. Haymon has also been appointed to the U.K. Financial Reporting Council’s Investor Advisory Group.

In addition, Rachit Gupta is appointed as Deputy Head of U.K. Research, and as Head of U.K. Small and Mid-Cap Companies, a key area for U.K. Research.  Mr. Gupta, who has an MBA from ICFAI Business School, is currently Vice-President and manager in the U.K. Research team, and has extensive governance and research experience, with ten years of experience of U.K. corporate governance, as well as in a number of other key international markets and in financial services. “Rachit’s appointment will also be key for ISS’s continued success in providing relevant and insightful research for our clients. We feel particularly fortunate to be able to make two such strong appointments in Jonathan and Rachit from within our current team, ensuring continuity and continued depth of U.K. governance expertise for the benefit of our clients.”
