LONDON, U.K. (4 December 2017) – Institutional Shareholder Services Inc. (ISS), a leading provider of governance and responsible investment solutions to the global financial community, today announced that Cédric Lavérie will be joining ISS as Head of French Research based in Paris.

Mr. Lavérie is an experienced investment industry practitioner currently working as Head of Corporate Governance at Amundi. Prior to joining Amundi in 2011, he had over 10 years’ experience in the financial industry, as a corporate governance analyst at Credit Agricole Asset Management and AXA Investment Managers and in risk management at Paribas (Suisse) SA. Mr. Lavérie holds graduate degrees in Banking-Finance from Paris II University, International Economic Law from Paris X University and Politics from New York University.

Mr. Lavérie will lead the ISS French research team, with a continued focus on producing market-leading high-quality research and voting recommendations on French companies for ISS clients globally. He will also have a client-facing and public role, managing engagement with French companies, monitoring French and global corporate governance developments and ensuring ISS French voting guidelines reflect good market standards, investor needs and best practice.

At Amundi, Mr. Lavérie has worked with fund managers and analysts in assessing company corporate governance arrangements, and engaging with companies on material corporate governance and other ESG issues as part of Amundi’s investment and voting considerations. Mr. Lavérie was a member of Amundi’s ESG rating committee, was on the steering committee of the SRI department and was responsible for Amundi’s implementation of the PRI active ownership principle. Mr. Lavérie represented Amundi as a member of the Corporate Governance Committees of the AFG in France, EFAMA at European-level and is a member of the Shareholder Responsibilities Committee of the ICGN internationally. He also contributed to the work of the French SIF, ORSE and Institut du Capitalisme Responsable.

Mr. Lavérie will join ISS’ French office and will report to Catherine Salmon, Executive Director, Head of Research for U.K., France, Middle East and Africa.
