José joined ISS in 2014 to lead a Project Management Office that would oversee the separation of ISS from the then-parent company, MSCI. This effort included the move of 15 offices worldwide, corporate applications, shared data, and 2 data centers.

In 2016 José was appointed to his current role of Head of Research Operations and Change Management and was also asked to lead a strategic cross-functional, multi-year Operational Excellence initiative. The initiative has laid the foundations for many long-term benefits across our business. Operational Excellence focused on five key areas:

• Standardize raw & derived data; optimize automation.
• Automate procurement coding & data.
• Separate data & analysis and increase specialization.
• Optimize staffing & resource management.
• Enhance governance mechanism.

In 2019, ISS asked José to lead the program to manage the integration of Strategic Insight into ISS. The biggest acquisition in the history of the company, with over 400 employees. It consisted of integrating 11 different business functions, corporate applications, offices around the world, and multiple data centers.

The team José currently heads has the charter to identify and capture process intelligence from stakeholders, and to manage and drive operational excellence throughout our research process. Also, to assess and where possible, apply technology to dynamically adjust and optimize research processes and help enhance value, speed and efficiency.

Previously, José spent 20 years with Dell Computers in multiple worldwide roles. Including Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, Services, Analytical reporting, and Program/Project Management.

José is a graduate of the University of Texas in Computer Science. Coursework in Finance, Marketing, and statistics. A green belt in business process improvements.
